EXKURSION: Nach Hambi– mit der Großformatkamera --> experimentelles Großprinten im Schwarzweiß- und Farblabor Der zwischen Aachen und Köln gelegene Hambacher Wald, ist zwar heute nur noch wenige hundert Hektar groß, aber längst zum Symbol für die nationale und internationale Klimabewegung geworden. Der Wald sollte ursprünglich vom Energiekonzern RWE für die Braunkohle des Tagebaus Hambach abgebaggert werden. Das Waldstück, das sich direkt an der Abbruchkante des Tagesbaus befindet, ist heute voll von improvisierten Architekturen, Baumhäusern und sporadischen Hütten. Aus den nahegelegenen Dörfern Manheim und Morschenich sind die ansässigen Dorfbewohner*innen fast alle umgesiedelt worden, die Architekturen vor Ort verfallen. In einer gemeinsamen Exkursion in den umstrittenen Hambacher Wald wollen wir uns gemeinsam mit Großformatkameras dokumentarisch und künstlerisch diesen Architekturen vor Ort nähern. Das Arbeiten mit der Großformatkamera erfordert, Konzentration und das Erlernen von Großformatkamera-Techniken, die wir vor Ort üben und ausprobieren werden. Ziel ist es, die Grundlagen des Umgangs mit der Großformatkamera kennenzulernen, sowie das anschließende Entwickeln und Großformat Printen im Schwarzweiß- und Farblabor. Nach der Exkursion werden die Schwarzweiß Negative gemeinsam entwickelt, und die Bilder großformatig abgezogen. Für das Seminar soll u.a. mit abgelaufenem Fotopapier experimentiert werden. Abschluss des Projektes ist eine gemeinsame Ausstellung der Fotografien und eine Publikation. Falls wir gemeinsam ein Baumhaus besuchen wollen, besteht die möglichkeit einen Kletterkurs zu besuchen . The forest was originally intended to be dredged by the energy company RWE for the lignite of the Hambach open-cast mine. The piece of forest, which is located directly on the demolition edge of the open-cast mine, is now full of improvised architecture, tree houses and sporadic huts. Almost all of the villagers from the nearby villages of Manheim and Morschenich have been relocated, and the architecture on site has fallen into disrepair. In a joint excursion to the controversial Hambach Forest, we want to approach these local architectures with large-format cameras in a documentary and artistic way. Working with the large format camera requires concentration and learning large format camera techniques, which we will practise and try out on site. The aim is to learn the basics of working with the large format camera, as well as the subsequent developing and large format printing in the black and white and colour lab. After the excursion, the black and white negatives will be developed together and the pictures will be printed in large format. Among other things, the seminar will experiment with expired photographic paper. The project will end with a joint exhibition of the photographs and a publication. If we want to visit a tree house together, there is the possibility to attend a climbing course.
